It's totally natural to be a little nervous the day before your shoot. Especially if this is a new experience for you. Almost every client who steps into the studio gets nervous right before we start. The important part is not to let these nerves turn to fear. Let’s help you turn those pre-shoot jitters into excitement and energy! Try some of these tips the night before your shoot to help you relax and feel your best!

1. Pamper yourself

Boudoir is all about self-love. Take advantage of the entire boudoir experience! Take the time leading up to your shoot to enjoy yourself and relax.

Here are some great ways to pamper yourself:

  • Get a massage

  • Take a hot bath

  • Go shopping for some fun new outfits

  • Light some candles and meditate

Remember, you are worth investing in yourself!

2. Watch your favorite rom-com or spicy movie

There’s nothing like a good rom-com to help you feel relaxed and romantic. Or if you’re feeling extra spicy try something like Magic Mike or 50 Shades of Gray. This will be sure to give you a laugh and help you feel less intimidated about the idea of taking spicy photos.

3. Do some yoga

This will not only improve your mood and reduce stress, but it will also help get you ready for some of those trickier poses. We will be putting you in poses that may feel a little bit awkward. Making sure you are limber and your muscles are relaxed will help make getting into the poses easier. It will also make holding them much more comfortable. Knowing that you are ready to conquer any pose will help you feel more confident going into your photoshoot.

Pro tip: For some added spice to help you feel more confident, try doing it in your lingerie or birthday suit!

4. Write yourself a boudoir love letter

If you are feeling overwhelmed, it's important to remind yourself why you booked your photoshoot in the first place. Take a few minutes to write down why you booked your shoot. Was it to celebrate a milestone? Did you want to give a special gift to your significant other? Or is it for the fun of the experience? Once you write down why you booked your shoot, then write down 3 outcomes you would like to see from the shoot. For example, you want to feel more confident in yourself, you want to remind yourself that you’re worth it, or you want to see a different side to yourself. Etc. Once you set clear goals and expectations for your shoot, you’ll be more excited to step in front of the camera.

Pro tip: Be sure to share this with your photography team so they can better plan your shoot.

5. Dance in your lingerie

This is a fun way to try on your outfits before your shoot and get comfortable in them. If the idea of doing this feels awkward, that’s good! You’re about to be in that same outfit in front of a camera, so getting over those jitters now will help you in the long run. Even when you’re in the studio with us, I’ll be dancing around with you! Have fun with this, put on your favorite playlist, pour a glass of wine, and let loose!
